If you don’t have layers in your closet, you’re missing out! Make your life easier by adding these chic items to your closet and have fun getting dressed again.
1- Winter Coat
This is what I like to call your functional item. This is what you wear to actually keep you warm. This will vary depending on where you live. If you live in the deep south, you probably won’t have a heavy coat. If you live in a temperate climate like North Carolina, you will have at least 1 of these coats that you will wear a few times a year. If you live in the north, you’ll want to invest in a few quality jackets. Don’t lose your sense of style though just for functionality. Here are a few fashionable options.
2 – Coatigan
I like to call this the Goldilocks jacket because it’s the perfect mix of a chic cardigan with the warmth of a heavy jacket. These are thick third layers that can serve as outerwear but are also comfortable enough to wear indoors as well. The coatigan is a great way to stay cozy while also enhnacing your outfit!
3 – Denim Jacket
If you don’t have at least one of these in your closet, you need to add one ASAP. This is a classic wardrobe building block that can be an easy addition to any outfit. Be careful though, they are addicting! Once you find out just how versatile they really are, you won’t be able to stop at just one.
So what do we suggest? Once you’re ready to expand your wardrobe, add denim jackets in different colors – white, black, indigo, light wash, etc.
4 – Moto Jacket
Embrace your inner rebel with the help of a cool moto jacket. These edgy third layer items are a cool way to elevate any outfit – even a simple t-shirt and jean combo.
Find the right silhouette for you! Some faux leather jackets are very classic while others are more inline with the traditional motorcyle jacket but with a fashionable twist.
5 – Blazer
This is a timeless piece every woman should have in her wardrobe. This is a useful and versatile piece that can transform any outfit from subtle and simple to polished and powerful. There are so many variations of the traditional blazer thanks to a variety of fabrics inlcuding faux leather, velvet and corduroy.
